George Puddephatt, Director


George Puddephatt is a Special Projects Coordinator for the Riverside County Economic Development Agency in the Workforce Division. He has been a resident of the Coachella Valley for 18 years and has been a professional Manager with over 30 years of experience in human services and independent business development. He was formerly the Director of Social Services for one of the Desert’s largest non-profits and the Special Needs Housing Coordinator for Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. He has extensive management experience in non-profit administration and program development.

George has served on multiple non-profit Boards. He was appointed by Nevada Governor Bob Miller to serve on the State of Nevada Mental Health Advisory Council, served as Vice President of the National Alliance of the Mentally Ill-Las Vegas Chapter, and President of Community Counseling Center in Las Vegas where he resided for 21 years before moving to the desert. He currently serves of the Inland Empire Advisory Council for GRID Alternatives, a California non-profit dedicated to making renewable energy technology and job training accessible to underserved communities.

George is committed to public service and has provided hundreds of hours of volunteer service throughout the Coachella Valley. He believes strongly in the vision and mission of Desert Best Friend’s Closet and is proud to serve on the Board of Directors.
